This lovely chandelier, featured here in the largest of five sizes, is made from silvery hand-blown Murano glass, and has a delightful pink and green floral trim.
It is actually a very sizeable piece of craftsmanship, measuring a metre in height, and well over a metre in width. Rezzonico chandeliers first appeared in the Venetian palazzi in the 17th century. Chandelier designs were becoming ever larger as the Venetian businessmen competed to display their wealth, but the chandeliers were breaking under their own weight.
This prompted the development of the metal frame and the conjoined glass sleeves which cover the arms, and the Rezzonico style was born.
The range also includes wall lights with two, three, or five lights. These can be seen on the left.
